be tested more so against the winner of the N.L.C.S.

Who will be a more formidable/tougher opponent for the Detroit Tigers, the Oakland Athletics or the winners of the N.L.C.S. in the World Series.

Congratulations to the Detroit Tigers and their fans...and, the memory of the Georgia Peach, Tyrus (Ty) Raymond Cobb!

They are all very good teams. The A's will be the biggest hurdle for the Tigers. They both have great hitting and pitching. It will be a great series to watch.

If the Tigers end up playing the Cards it will be like a West Michigan White Cap reunion. And yes the White Caps are the MWL champs!! WOW, Weaver is looking rough these days, the Cards can keep him, Detroit didn't want him anyway.

Coming from a Tigers fan, I believe that the A's will be a more formidable opponent because of their pitching abilities. If the Tigers pitchers (Verlander, Rogers, and Bonderman) pitch as well as they did against New York, we're in for a great series!

Oakland will be the tougher team to beat.
As stated in another question, The A's have better pitching than the yankees. That Oakland series will go 7 games and pitching will win it.

If they win and face St. Louis (I hope) that will be a classic.

If they win and play the ny yankees (er, i mean mets) they would have no problem putting another good ole fashioned whooping on dem der city slickers!

Absolutely, don't believe the media hype. The A's always had something the Yankees did not and that's good pitching, this will be a good series, but A's in 6 and I'm also an A's fan, but honestly Detriot has always been my second favorite team so I'm very happy right now

Personally (and admittedly as an A's fan) I think they'll be more tested in Oakland. If they get through us, I think they'll cruise over the Mets or Cards (not much chance for SD, I think.)

I think you have your answer now. Tigers flatten the A's. The NL is weak this year so the Tigers are a shoe-in for the WS title. GO TIGERS!!!

a's have been swept so it looks like the only ones who can stop them is the mets or cards
