Green is that fresh smell in the air, in spring when the ground becomes ALIVE again!

On a scientific level, you could explain that there are 6 parts to pure light and that green is one part. Each part is a different wavelength of light. You can describe wavelengths in terms of sound. Short wavelengths translated to sound would sound high pitched, long wavelengths would sound low, like the vibrations on a string instrument. The longer the distance back and forth, the lower the sound. The difference with light is that shorter wavelengths make darker colors. You can describe green by stating the 6 visible colors in order from shortest wavelength to longest (Violet, Indigo, Green, Yellow, Orange Red) And explain that green would be the 3rd lowest tone if light were translated to sound.

On an emotionaly level, if you can find a nature sounds CD, you can explain what each song color feels like to you. For example, a babbling brook may render an image of a forest in your head and you could describe it as green.

Start with a color scale and go through the patterns with braille, describe green as an in-between color of light and dark shade. A color shade that is the color of grass and other things. Make an example for the color guide.

ok, this is what you can do, you can associate the color with something they (the blind) already know, use metaphore.. in chase of green you can associate it with Nature, spring, fertility, youth, environment, wealth, coldness. Or.. collect some green stuff, i mean that was naturaly green, such as leaf and grass, let he/she touch it and explain.. tha that is the feel of green.

green is the taste of mint leaves on crushed ice and the feeling of the first trace of a fall breeze on your arms. it's the pavement under your feet right after it's just stopped raining, when it's a bit chilly outside and you might need a jacket, but for some odd reason you're not wearing shoes.

i hope it said the same thing to you as it does to me.

with love.

Well you really couldn't describe, because if this blind person has been blind from birth...there is no way how he/she could understand what "green" is because he/she has never seen it, or any other color.

I would describe colours by translating them into a sense they have, such as warmth, dryness, smell.

I'd say green is a clean, happy colour that is found in the forest and plants, and it symbolizes purity and nature.

first, i'd give them a wint o green mint.....
second, i'd put wet dewy grass in their hands
thirdly, i'd say green is the color of yards being mowed,
of fir trees, evergreens, and give them samples of all of those.
