Someone told me and my family we were going to hell, so me and a group of friends found him and beat the $hit out of him and left him a bloody mess on the pavement. Would you have done the same?

No, you just made his statement partly true.

no.
But if he said he was intending to put me there. maybe.
It depends on if his argument was believable or construable as a threat and you saw this an appropriate action over reporting to police.
In any event the truth should unfold in public hearing.
Its something different to confront somebody about what was the meaning of thier words.

Attacking him unsolicitedly as you did, and with a group of friends is nothing short of an act of cowardice. and you are a coward.

It may in fact bring out more threat and negativity from him. if the law does get involved somewhere along the line you will be found guilty of aggrivated assault and battery.

Which is the correct action to take?
It seems you already bowed to take the wrong one.

When you have a conflict with someone you deal with them directly. Are you that confused or ethically off center or morally bankrupt enough to consult the general public on this? After taking said action?

I think the law will be right to see you serve jail time.

But maybe hes such a damned nice guy he wont report you?
So maybe you should consider apologizing to him, talk about it.

But then again I dont know the details. just construed of what you've typed here. You leave a bad taste in my mouth.

How awful and you should listen to him. Evidently he knows something we don't A gang beat him up. Why did you need a group to beat him up ? Well you will think your in hell , when you sit in prison for a few years. Assult is against the law and Gang assult is even worse. Shame on you. You just proved to us that you MIGHT have already one leg in hell . Ask God to help you and then go and ask the poor guy that you beat up, for forgiveness. Change your attitude and you will be saved from anything bad. Ask God to help you and keep you from going to hell. No I would not have done what you did. Ask for forgiveness . Tell the young man you are sorry. DON'T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN.

That is pretty messed up. Sounds like hell might be okay for you, and why not? Sounds like all your friends will be there!

You should not beat up people, you got some serious issues to deal with. Plus it took a group of you to kick one persons a**?

Geez, you are off to a great start in life!

No I would not have. Violence never solved anything. By going and beating the crap out of him, you proved his point. A true Christian would have known that wasn't the answer. You should have asked him to show the scripture that supported his claim.

People tell me to go to hell all the time. I've gone on MapQuest many times and I have never been able to get directions to go to hell. I asked how to get there once and they threatened to beat me up. So now I just let them tell me to go to hell and forget about asking directions.

I might look stupid and some people call me a moron but I can usually get someplace if I know where it is.

Why hand over the key to your feelings to some third party? Be in control and charge of yourself -- keep the keys to your feelings and happiness with yourself. Nothing happens to you without your consent. Learn to be pro-active ..... and not provocative or reactive. By reacting you have legetimised his opinions or actions. Why should you have done that? Reflect .... think....ponder .... for there lies your way to the kingdom of heaven. The ticket there is bought by you with your deeds and does not depend on someone's benevolence!!

No one but God has the right or the power to judge and condemn some one to hell. God said; judge not unrighteous, lest ye be judged unrighteous. He also said; as ye judge so shall ye also be judged. Whoever judged you and your family in such a way, is in grave danger of creating there own judgments. However you, in retaliating the way you did, are setting yourself up for the same type judgment for the same reasons. It is our place to forgive everyone. God will forgive who He will.

NO NO NO It is never o.k. to hit anyone unless they hit you first. So what if he said you and your family are going to hell. What did you do first for him to say that to you. Taken into account, what you did to him. Maybe you are going to Hell( if you believe in that sort of thing.)

no. I understand that you were angry, but this wasn't the way to handle this. Is this someone who's opinion counts? This person isn't in charge of who gets into heaven. Walk away. If it happens at school (I'm assuming your age), then report the person for harassment and discrimination.

no, that's a good way to end yourself up in jail. They're holy rollers ! Leave them alone. They will not harm you other than to annoy you. If what you say is true, you've got a serious anger problem.
