i get frustrated when i go shopping there. their pants and shortsare very tight around my butt and hips but extremely loose around my waist. most black i talk to have had the same problem shopping there. they just tend to make clothes that will only fit women with a flat type butt and an uncurvy body. its a shame because they have some nice looking clothes at decent prices.

NOBODY makes clothes for a black woman's body type. Don't even get me started on Express or the Gap. Black women are built "front-to-back", like an "S". We don't get wide hips and thick waists and back-fat when we put on weight; we get boobies and butts. I am in my 30's and am built like a little boy. I have very narrow (nonexistant) hips, a very small waist, and I wear a 32D bra. The only reason that I have any curve to me at all is that I have BWA (black woman's @ss). I wear a size 2 and I STILL have to have everything taken in at the waist and across the back. I don't even want to think about trying to find jeans that fit! These designers need to wise up.

Ms. Noonie's right; Nelly trippin' on those Apple Bottom prices.

It is all about body type! Most companies have one fit model that they think represents their customer best, so everything will fit that one body type best. Some companies, like Gap, are starting to try catering to different body types by offering curvy and straight versions of their jeans. Not many companies are doing it. A great jean resource for you is zafu.com. You answer a few questions about your body and they will tell you which jeans will fit you the best. They have all different price ranges of jeans and you may see some new brands that you never thought of trying before!

i have experienced the same thing. either you have to go up a size and the waist is too loose or down a size and it too tight. good luck though. i love their clothes.
