The only reason I would run a marathon is if someone promised to pay off my student loans if I completed the race.

My first was to prove I could , Now it is to try to go faster

My running group does a Marathon every year so a lot of it is for the friends I have made since I started running

Because it is a personal best thing and, not many other people can- heck, running a 5k puts you above the average man who cannot run 100 yards.

well i run because it feels good. running is a personal thing... its always fun running in a marathon for like terry fox or breast cancer.

It keeps you in shape and it's very good for your heart. I run 3 miles every day for Phys Ed. My teacher pushes us to the limit, running is so great.

People run to stay fit and healthy and it can also build self esteem for good runners. It is a passion for alot of people.

To work towards a goal & complete it for a sense of an accomplishment. It makes you feel good and others feel proud of you.

just to see how far I can push myself ie my limits; how disciplined I am in giving up; how easy/difficult it is for my body/brain to cope with it
