All the monarchies were abolished at the end of WWI although they often still use their titles (forbidden in Austria). Prinz Otto von Hohenzollern (Prince of Prussia, also abolished) became head of the family in 1943 when Wilhelm II died. So - No - there is no King of Bavaria. Take a look at www.jbb7994.com

No, there isn't a king in Bavaria any more but instead they do have a 'Kaiser'!
Unfortunately, he moved his residence to Salzburg but still works in Munich.
Any further hint needed? He was heading the organization committee for the World Cup in Germany this year..

There's no more King in Bavaria.
Nevertheless, there is a musical about the famous King Ludwig (the one who built Neuschwanstein) and you can learn about his live and the former times.
