What should I eat or what should I do so that I can eat again. I've tried oatmeal, cream of chicken soup, ramen noodles, wendy's (their roast turkey sandwhich...and the double 1/4 pounder). i cant get my body to let me eat again. what should i do?

Start small. A piece of dry toast, or some crackers. MAKE yourself eat all of it. Then in another hour, eat the same thing. When you start to feel a little hungry (and it will come), drink some chicken broth with your next piece of dry toast.

The trick is many little meals. All of things that have no fat or much taste, because you don't want your stomach throwing them back at you before you can absorb them.

On the second day, try for a poached egg on that dry toast. Then some Campbell's chicken noodle soup with dry toast. For supper some white rice mixed with chicken broth. Again bland foods, but with more substance. And again, try to eat many small meals.

Continue doing this until you regain your appetite. But I would stay away from the greasy and spicy food for awhile, until your stomach is back to normal.

I know how you are feeling. When I finally kicked my phillandering husband out after 16 1/2 years of marriage, I was so emotionally distraught that I could not make myself eat for a week either. I barely managed to choke down some water every day. I lost 24 lbs in that week. And then I looked at my two (very scared) daughters, and decided that I owed it to them not to fall apart. So the above was what I did to get back to eating properly.

Try to stay away from dairy products until you can eat normally. They need more digestion, and can be too harsh for a delicate stomach.

Good luck. Remember, you owe it to yourself and your family to take care of yourself. They need you.

First, you should take better care of yourself! Are you able to swallow or do you have a gag reflex? If you actually ingest something do "keep it down"? I'd try water first, tea next, then some consumme (aka broth)...perhaps some "Ensure' or similar product.....start slowly with liquids then move up to cooked cereal, rice, COOKED fruit (except for banana). Perhaps you might try baby food. Are you nauseated or have abdominal pain? If you don't succeed in 48 hours, I'd see a doctor. You may be dehydrated and need medical intervention.

u should drink some Gatorade that will help u if u have any dehydration, which is very likely, them maybe have some peptobismol to protect ur stomach and try again some soup... but do this with big intervals of time so ur stomach doesn't get upset and makes u trough up... stay away from the solids for a while

you should first try the liquids only, like chicken broth (without the chicken pieces) and drink lots of water, after this, start to re-introduce wholesome foods into your diet like fruits (banana is good) and dairy like milk. You have to slowly get your body to it's normal digesting level. By the end of this, you should be able to eat fibre (which is undigestible). Eating oatmeal first thing is a very bad idea.... remember, liquids ---> solids

Start with liquids, then try ice cream, a milk shake or just a protein drink. Slowly add dry toast, a couple saltines, tea with honey, jello. Just be sure to keep your body hydrated by sipping on Gatorade, broth, ice water (or ice chips), ginger ale until you're eating better.

start with a light fruit juice . gradually move up to taking bananas . by this time ur stomach should have settled quite a bit . then go for well boiled ( almost paste-like consistency) rice with boiled potatoes . u will be fine by then and can move to ur regular diet . and take care not to repeat this immensely foolish act of not having anything for such a long time-period .

Try something light, with little flavor... like steamed rice.
If you still can't eat see a doctor.

Wait another day, and if there is still no improvement in your appetite, see a specialist or physician.
