Mix a pot about 3/4 water and 1/4 vinegar. If it's really bad, use more. Let it sit in the chamber for 1/2 hour or so, then put in a coffee filter and brew it through several times, changing filter each time.

They say not to do it hot, but it works OK - and maybe better for cleaning.

Now brew two pots of just water through it. Time how long it takes to complete brew cycle now on one of these rinses.

When the time to brew goes up by about 20%, it's time to clean it again.

It the pot gets burnt coffee inside it, put enough salt in to hit the burnt parts and add just enough water to get it wet.

Let it sit for 15 minutes and give it (light swipe if you need to) and rinse it out. Works good on mugs too.

Put the white vinegar in the part of the machine that holds the water and turn the coffee maker on let it run through and then run water through. It works really well I sometimes rinse it 2 or3 times to make sure, there will be no vinegar taste.

Pour a cupof vinegar into the reservior and finish filling with water. Turn on and allow to run through cycle. Dump. Re fill with fresh cold water and run through to rinse.
Guess what? I found oxy works even better than vinegar. I dissolve a tablespoon of oxy in very hot water then run the machine. I then rinse with cold water three times. It also makes the carafe sparkle!
