The Tigers have come a very long way. 3 years ago they had 119 losses.

I am very happy with what they have done this year.
No one expected them to do what they have already done.
No even me.

They beat the yankees...and it was NOT because the yankees "collapsed". It was because The Tigers had better pitching.

Pure & Simple.

Oakland will be a test for The Tigers, no doubt.
The A's have better pitching than the yankees did.
Both teams match up evenly.

It will be a great series, go 7 games.

If we beat Oakland, The Tigers will have no problems beating the NY yankees again (er, i mean mets)

Whatever you think of the Detroit Tigers, don't be influenced with a team, the NY Yankees, that had internal problems within the ball club that carried onto the field.

The three game sweep against the 2006 NY Yankees will go into the record books but it is not a good measure of the capabilities of the Tigers.

When a team like the NY Yankees has a starting lineup that included each member once having played in the All-Star game and that same team goes scoreless for some 20 innings, something is wrong, and not just on the field.

If the Tigers are really that good , Detroit has to yet prove themselves. To put the 2006 Detroit Tigers against the NY Yankees in that playoff series, which was won by the Tigers, has everybody wondering...Did the Tigers really win or did they Yankees simply loose/collapse?

And, Detroit will be tested when they play Oakland.

This team is playing just like the '84 team. They have drive, determination, and desire to be number 1. They have the same passion that Kirk Gibson did when he hit that grand slam in '84 to win the series. I was at that game and this team really deserves to be where they are and they deserve the title as World Series Champs. GO TIGERS ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since the Dodgers are out of it, I'll be cheering for the Tigers. I went to Detroit and watched them beat the Twins. Jim Leyland has balls too, I heard a couple of years ago he got into a fist fight with one of his players when he critizied Leyland's coaching, and the old man kicked his butt! Now that's old school!

I am in Atlanta and I think they are great team. I really enjoyed them sharing the champagne with the fans, it was very cool. I have watched baseball since the sixties and never saw that before. I wish them all the best.

And of course I hate the Yankees! (except for Joe Torre)

They had a great season..... they deserve to win the Series. They definitely have a great chance, even if it means beating my Mets.
