There is NO excuse for his not paying child support. It has nothing to do with you really....it's all about HIS kids. If I were you, I would force him to pay it, by whatever means necessary.

I guess I have a different take on this. I am a man....and when I got divorced from my wife I went for sole custody of my children....and I got it. When I went to the lawyers to do up the papers they ask me what I wanted for child support...I replied none. Well they thought I was mental lol. But you need this for your children I was told....Nope...don't need it don't want it...see the way I looked at it...it was no different than if she had died. I would have had to take care of my kids then too without any child support....so whats the difference now?
Yes I agree that EVERYONE man or women SHOULD help with raising there kids....but if you need to be FORCED to do it.....then you are a worthless person who is self centered and I personally don't want your money cause you were TOLD to give it to me.
By the way.....my Ex would give some money once in a while for the kids and I was okay with that....but you know who she hurt....herself because now that the kids are older....21 and 17 they think she should have helped me out and didn't....so they don't have much to do with her and have little to no respect for her as a mother.
And I can look at both of them now and say " Good job Dad we did it" lol

Do you have a court order? Do you let him see your kids?

What is his financial situation? What is yours? Has he come out and told you why he's not paying child support?

Everyone assumes that fathers are always the deadbeats in this situation. this is not always true. I've seen exwives b*tch about child support but won't get a court order or even ask for help for that matter.

Unless you stand up and get a court order, the only one hurting those kids is you doing nothing.

Be careful. If you've filed court orders to keep your ex husband away from you and this has resulted from them keeping in contact with their own dad, this is a felony is some states, punishable by prison time. I know, our attorney gave us this little tid bit of info. It's called parental interference.

If you are one of those type of women who are bitter after a divorce and kept your ex from seeing his kids, it'll backfire on you big time. Unless u can prove he's unfit, you'll be sitting in the same hot seat come court day.

if you have a court order for child support then you would do well to take it to your local office of child support (it's sometimes listed under Dept. Family and Children Services). Tell them that you require their services and ask them to take care of collecting the child support from your ex through payroll deductions. Once you've retained their services (at no cost to you), they'll be able to collect on the arrears owed to you, as well, through (if necessary) garnishment of federal and state tax returns and lottery winnings!!!

Do not delay...it takes the OCS a few weeks to begin collecting on your behalf which can mean more arrears (and less money readily available to you). Good luck to you. You're doing the right thing...for all the right reasons.

For all the Dads who pay on a regular basis and do their best to take care of their own I say " let's have him drawn and quartered" I agree that if he isnt paying he is hurting his kids and frankly I dont know how he can live with himself.

Don't put all men in there sis. Some women are the same. I paid $200. per month then when my daughter came to live with me at 13 years old I received $20. per month. I had to fight to get that.

You may need to report him to the District Attorney or get a private attorney. Children are the responsibility of both parents.

It's not only men that don't pay child support. There are plenty of irresponsible women out there that don't pay or show any interest in their children's lives, also.

take him to court and get it court ordered. It's about a quality of life for the child and nothing to do with you.

men like to skate on responsibilites , for sure! they would rather do other things with thier money than take care of thier own kids.
