For me, it would be Reality TV without a doubt. I find it to be boorish, voyeuristic, mundane and without compassion for it's subjects.

Thanks for the advice 'Nick1464' but I hike, snorkell and run quite a lot. What's the word I'm looking for here... judgemental?

I ALMOST said "reality TV", but I think what irks me more now is pundit-driven programs like Bill O'Reilly, Nancy Grace, and Hannity and Colmes.....hardcore propaganda that is divisive, mean, and complete bullshlt once examined closely. I can't see how anyone can sit through an hour of blustery, vehement "news" with such an obvious slant, unless they just want their own narrow-minded and angry opinions repeated and reinforced.

Runner-ups would be reality TV and soap operas.

Reality TV for sure. None of it is really "reality" anyhow. If you want to see reality, turn off the TV (button labeled "power" - I know you have probably never used it, since you probably haven't turned the thing off since you bought it, but it's there...trust me) walk outside and look around, I know it's hard but people used to do it all the time.

I apoligize if I came off as criticizing you, my answer was simply a outward display of my disappointment with how wrapped up our current society is in mundane things (such as TV), it was not meant to demean you in any way, and again I apoligize if it did.

Reality shows. The whole concept was started in Australia by Rupert Murdock who ownes all of broadcasting there.90% in the UK and Fox worldwide. He has become Ted Turner's archenemy. Ted thinks Murdock is the worse thing that ever happened to broadcasting.

Reality tv - am proud to say I've never watched an episode of any of it. Needs to put out for the garbo to take away.

Get rid of your television. Then when you're too old or ill to move around much any longer you won't have the soul-destroying regret of a dying man that he didn't live his life more fully.

I have to agree with you. I've had enough reality. When I watch TV, I want to escape reality. Enough with the reality bull **** already.
