It's like the people who are don't want to make mistakes are treated like lepers and people embarrass them by always asking them why they "never" married (as if their chances are over). Nobody asks people why they've been divorced 2-3 times!

This culture is very conservative right now. It is like women are damaged goods if no man wants them--nevermind that perhaps the woman doesn't want the men who are interested. How many times have you seen women doing 90% of everything and paying for everything and being married to an overgrown 11 year old? Women want to be equals to a mate not a mommie.

There is nothing wrong with you honey except you have a brain and decided not to settle. Don't let anyone make you feel inferior about that.

The older one gets the more suspicious it is if other potential mates have never been in a committed relationship. At least the two or three times divorced has been in the pool and knows what they are in for! It shows the ability to commit, even if, for some reason, it doesn't work out for them. I would much rather be involved with someone who was divorced and older than someone who is older and never been in a committed relationship. Never having been in one if you are older insinuates you are a perfectionist and no one will ever measure up to your expectations. Nothing is guaranteed. Especially relationships these days.

acceptable or not it does not make it right. and there is no fault with not getting married if you haved not found the right person. if you find that person then divorse is not an issue because you will always be in love.

society as a whole has become a place where it is not our responsibility but someone elses, we are all victims of someone elses actions. BULLSH*T
we need a reality check. we need to take responsibility for our part in everything we do. if that was the case then maybe we would advance instead of decline as a society.

Some people are just stupid. My husband was 50 when
he married me. He had never been married. I guess
he was waiting for the right person to fall in love with.
We were together for 8 years before we got married.
He passed away 30 days 13 hours 55 min. after we got married. I guess what I am trying to say is. You are never too young, or too old to find true love.

Could be the idea that the person that may have married more then once has a back bone and willing to take a chance. They are not losers but look at life as an adventure.

My friend who has never married gets depressed about it. When I told her my SECOND marraige was over, she told *me* to count my blessings because at least I'd been married before. Being gilted 2X is evidently far more pallitable and less hurtful than having someone proclaim love and then, oops, forget why.
You're right, people are warped.
