you can inquire direct from the airlines if there are charges for an infant.

but i suggest pal is your best bet since they have direct flight and it will cut back on your flight time since you have an infant with you. probably takes 13 hours of flight without stopping compare to others who stopped for refueling and picking up passenger in case the plane is not full. just think of your baby's comfort care and your resistance if you are able to manage the whole trip.

you don't need a car seat, the plane have their baby crib alike that set right on the front where you will be seating, where you can manage to attend to her needs...

but ensure you have all the paper works that allows you take the baby out of the country away from your husband if he is not coming on your trip..

Disregard advice that claims free airfare for children under two as long as they stay on your lap. This rule usually ONLY applies to US domestic travel. International travel rules require one seat for each passenger--regrdless of age. Travelling to the Philippines from the West, a special discounted child fare may be available anywhere from 25% to 90% of the full adult fare. It all depends on the time, airline, itinerary and date.

Some airlines have a bassinet you can use, check with them first. If not, a carseat especially *certified* for airline travel may be used on top of the seat and I highly recommend this for kids under 1 years old.

children younger than 2 years old travel absolutely for free usually on any airline, children older than 2 years old and younger than 12 only pays 60% of the regular fare, you can take a look on Cathay pacific website, maybe for the transpacific flight you have to pay percentage of the air fare for your child but I think is less than 60%

A child under 2 years is free to fly, if you plan on holding them in your lap..carseats are optional but you would then have to pay for another seat, which usually equals the same price as your ticket.
