Oh yeah I think it's the USB flash drive....just something that replaces hard disk and stores data is what I need.

I am assuming you mean a USB flash drive. Just think of it like a really big Floppy Disk, I just got one that can hold 2GB.

It does the same thing that a floppy disk and CD-R(W) does. It allows you to store information so you can look at it and change it later. The USB drive is a little more versatile than the other 2 options I mentioned. To use it, all you have to have is a USB port. Just plug it in and you're ready to go. You can also (once Windows Vista comes out) use it as extra memory for your computer. I am unsure of the details there, but this is a very handy feature from the reviews I have seen.

It serves as a portable hard drive to carry with you. It is safer than a floppy, holds more than a floppy or a disk. I love to take mine with me when I travel as it means I have a backup of stories/books I'm working on, or if I am borrowing someone else's computer I can just use it and put it back in my purse. Best money I've ever spent is on the flash drive.

USB is used for a universial input/output for varrious devices such as mice, keyboards, printers, externial drives. So just saying USB drive is not enough, prollbaly an external storage drive, but this could be one of a hundred types of drives. Ad more info like hard drive, flash drive, etc.
