my_periods_usually_last_for_seven_days_to_a_week._don't_
worry about it. I would reccomend using a tampon (tampax pearl plastic works really well) as well as a panty liner to catch any excess blood. You can never predict the exact date, so just make sure to wear a pad a couple of days before you expect it. (for example, if you got your period last month on the 16th, this month you should start wearing pads on the 12th)

Hi there. I am no expert but I can tell you about when I first started. Mine was very heavy at first. My mom took me to the doctor and he put me on medicine to help with the flow and it also cut the days down to 4. Maybe you should ask your mom to take you to the doctors and he or she will explain it all to you. This will be your first of many female doctor visits. I hope you arent too unhappy about starting. It just means you are becoming a wonderful young women now.

Periods can be very irregular, it could stop in one or two days..you never know. Oh and it is normal for it to be heavy for the first couple days

It depends on your body...usually heavy the first 3 days or so...normal period lasts about 5 days...it really just depends on your body..

Well - it's Sunday - it should be better now - I would assume. Don't freak out if you happen to have a heavy period - that's quite normal.

i have a heavy flow when i start and my period is gone in 3 days. everyone is different and so are their periods. there is no set amount of time or flow.
