George Phelps is a bigot, Scientology is a scam, Nazis aren't Americans, and Pat Robertson is devout of his mind.

Wouldn't banning these fanatics from the airwaves benefit our children more than it would damage our pledge to free speech?

Sorry but as much as I agree with you we cannot allow any freedom to be banned The best thing is to avoid the hate. All they want is attention and avoiding them will hopefully make them go away

I think that to oppose the first amendment is just plain insane. What will stop the bigots from controlling all religion. I don't want anyone to make my decision for me. Remember that in the beginning Jesus was a cult leader and the Apostles were cult member. Christianity didn't became a religion until it gained wide acceptance before that it was considered just another cult. And in Rome they fed the Christians to the lions. So the awnser is "No".

It's a tough question. Who says who should be banned? You know these people are doing incredible damage to peoples minds, yet they have a large following. It would be better if they had to give equal time to other opinions, but people would probably just stop listening.
I think the solution is to reform education so that it really educates, teaches critical thinking, and how to discern facts from BS.

Maybe people should find out who's sponsoring such broadcasts and put some pressure on their companies. I wish someone would also put a stop to all of those evangelical programs where you can touch the tv screen and be blessed right after making a donation using your debit or credit card.

Nope, never ban them. Freedom of speech must come first no matter how much you disagree with them.
