I've been talking to a guy online (he's 16, I'm 15, and I only know him through a online forum, now AIM) for a week or so now, he really wants to swap phone numbers. I'd give him my cell phone number, what dangers are there in doing this?

we have exchanged pics before, and just by the way he talks about school and stuff, I'm pretty sure he's actually 16

NEVER give out personal information to strangers, especially online.

If you haven't met him in person, DO NOT give out your number. You never know who is on the other end. It may not be who you think.

Popular answer is be safe and don't ex-cng #'s. This if for a good reason ... there are some serious predators out there.

Should you be head strong, and go against sound advice please consider these options:

1. Tell your parents that you're calling a guy you meet. You may get a lecture ... but you're family is who'll pull u outta danger if you encounter it ... best to give them the 411 ... they may have safty idea's to help you too.

2. Get his phone # (DO NOT GIVE U'R's)... Set a call date on the computer (date, & time). When you call, use *67 and then dial the ph # ... this hides your ph #. Limit talking time to five minutes!!! Great flirting tech ... and practical to keep u safe. U can even make the call w/ parents in the room ... remember, this make u look loved and he'll treat u more like a women rather than trash.

3. You can then jump on the computer to finish u're conversation if the five min's aren't enough ... but don't be too eager ... guys like mystery too (even though they claim they don't ... they do).

I agree, could be a pervert. But, he can't get personal info from you by getting your cell phone number - although he could call and harass the heck out of you - which will force you to go to Mom and Dad to get a new number (and explain why).

Careful about online chats and romances, the person on the other end could be a 400 pound hairy guy who wears high heels and cocktail dresses - and likes to take long walks down dark alleys.

I advise not giving out your number. Give him the number of a pay phone at the mall and have him call you at a specific time. Never meet someone from online unless with a group of your friends in a VERY public place (again, a mall).

The worst that can happen is he'll call you. So what. Give him your number and talk to him, maybe you'll find you have even more in commen, then you can exchange pics, actually, maybe you should exchange pics first, in case he's not what you want physically. Then you'll have some Dog calling your cell phone all the time, better do the pics first, Good luck.

.
RED FLAG !!!
You said "He really wants to swap phone numbers"
uh, after less than two weeks?
The DANGER here is ANY one who pushes for a quick relationship is a LOSER!!!,
either just a disgusting person, or a dangerous person...

run, hide, you are not this desperate....are you?

If he wants to find you, all he has to do, is get your cell phone number, find the area of that number, convince you to send your photo, or at least your first name, and then stalk you at the local school, and follow you home. NOW, are you still that desperate for this relationship?

To be honest, I'm not sure what my own cell phone number is. I hate the damn things. I only keep it around for emergencies.

Simple! go to the website below, register, and give him that number and just call him back with *67....... THERE! You've avoided the "stalker status" what if's when giving your phone number to strangers........ Now I have a firewall up so it won't let me go to the site, if you have any questions, email me.
