Find somebody that's got a skillsaw or bolt cutters or something.

With the price of copper and aluminum these days - it shouldn't be hard to find someone if they get to keep the scraps.

Before you just hack through them it might be a good idea to find out what they are and whether they are live. They might be a phone cable with 50 pairs in it or they might be your alarm system with pairs for all the windows and doors or they might be a bunch of 120volt cables going to outlets on the second floor..

If you don't know what they are then the actual cutting is the least of your problems. Once you know that they are both unneeded and dead then a hacksaw or a bolt cutter would do the job - but find out first.

Honey, if you were doing housework and came across a mess of wires that you have no idea where they go, I personally suggest you leave them alone till you can get someone to check them out for you. You never know, could be live then you might not be. Please get someone to look at your situation for you before doing any cutting. Wiring is a funny thing and so isn't electricty till it reachs out and bites you, you'll have a new respect for it. Get someone to look at your situation first please, it could save your life or someone else's.
