It's not absolutely necessary to sign out of Yahoo! or several other online services when you're done using them. Although it is recommended for security reasons. I guess that if you leave yourself signed in there is more risk of someone else getting into your things. But after a certain amount of time Yahoo! & other services always reset it so that there needs to be a password typed in again. Hope you find the answer you wanted!

No. Just click off. When I sign out I have to go through various steps to make My Yahoo my home page again.

well yea if u just push da "x" on da top right corner of da screen
u will still be logged in
and ppl will be able 2 message or contact u
but if u sign out on da sign out button dan nobody will be able 2 contact u

Not nesscerley, it will keep you logged in and you just have to put in your password, if you dont choose that option, it will use a pre-set time to "time Out" and log you out of yahoo's servers.
