1.-- 6t-3=21
2.-- 2m+7=15
3.-- 8-1.2y=2

1. you want to get the variable, t, by itself.
to do this, you add 3 to both sides. (ALWAYS REMEMBER,,,WHAT YOU DO TO ONE SIDE, YOU MUST DO TO THE OTHER)
so 6t=24
then to get t alone again, divide both sides by 6
t-4

2. 2m+7=15
-7 -7
2m=6
m=3

3. 8-1.2y=2
-8 -8
-1.2y= -6
divide both sides by -1.2
y=-5

Say you have 2x+2=6
To solve it, you want to get x by itself
First you substract 2 from BOTH sides and you should get 2x=4
Next you want to divide BOTH sides from 2 and your final answer should be X=2.
Hope my example helps! If you need more help figuring out how to do two step equations I recommend going to this website below, it is an interactive demonstration. ;-)
