No I don't feel it is abortion......because you have no idea if the fertilized egg would have been able to implant.

I suppose it depends on your viewpoint on things. Once the egg and the sperm meet, life has been created, like it or not! The IUD prevents (in most cases) the egg from implanting, therefore preventing pregnancy.

It does, technically, abort the fertilized egg, which is why many people consider it a form of abortion.

I'm assuming that the people who claim that it is say that because it prevents fertilized eggs from implanting. Abortion is when an already-implanted, fertilized egg is expelled from the body by natural or induced means, so I don't think an IUD counts. In fact, it is so common for fertilized eggs to fail to implant that sometimes I wonder how there got to be so many people.

No, the egg can't implant because of it the IUD so there is no pregnancy to abort.

In all honesty the TRUE way the IUD works is UNKNOWN so if it prevents a fertilized egg or the cooper or hormones redirect the sperm is whats speculated so in reality who knows all that is known is that its works and is as effective as surgery. and is non-hormal or limited hormonal

sure some nuts think of it is, additionally they think of being pregnant starts off with concept - hence an iud which will circumvent implantation (and which additionally defines being pregnant) is seen abortion.

No, not at all. It's a form of birth control, not abortion.

That's ridiculous. It's the same as taking birth control pills every week, only more convenient.
