I had some of that done and it didn't bring out much of anything. I found out on my own what some of my problems were, but not from the regressive hypnotherapy.
It's different for everyone though, so why not give it a try? It can't hurt you, I don't think.
Just be careful you don't get stuck in a hospital setting type situation where they start telling you that you really need to go in to a hospital (so they can soak your insurance) and then put you on a lot of different medications.
That happened to me and they had me so messed up on drugs that their acupuncturist did some things to me while I was drugged up. He admitted to it and got fired, but I went there to get help from already being raped and molested, so that just made it all worse. (I was an adult).
Now I don't trust doctors, even if he was only an acupuncturist, he had on that white doctors coat and I trusted him as a doctor. I was pretty drugged, so I didn't really have a choice to run off or anything.
What was really bad was, after he did that to me, they sent me home without any further counseling because my insurance wouldn't pay for any more hospitalization.
If I had a clear mind then, I would have had him arrested and sued them, but that kind of knocked me down a few pegs so I gave up on trying to get help. I was in worse emotional condition when I came out, than when I volunteered to go in.
So, hypnotherapy is okay, but just be cautious and don't always trust what they're telling you. Get your family invoved like I should have done. Sorry this was so long, but I didn't want you to possibly go through what I did.

I have used regression therapy, but for different reasons than what you're looking to do. Make sure you talk with the hypnotherapist and "get a feel" for them before you decide to do this. Trust you gut. If you don't like the therapist, find a different one. When trying to ascertain if your recall is 100% accurate, again, trust your gut. Give it a few days, see if any other memories come up; and go from there. You might want to consider an abbreviated initial session just to see what you think of it.
I would suggest, if at all possible, that you leave the memories in the past. Yes, they may have shaped the person you are today; but so has free will. You have the choice to choose who you wish to be tomorrow. It really, truly can be done. I realize that some believe you have to confront your past in order to move forward; but I don't believe that is necessarily true. Your past only holds the power over you that you give it. The more you think about it, the more power it has.
I used to believe talk therapy was useful. It seemed the more I went and drug up the past, the more I felt I had to go. It was really starting to cost me financially, as well as emotionally. The more I talked about it, the more I focused on it; and the bigger it became. I finally said OK, God, I'm done with this. Here, you deal with it.
Yea, it still surfaces from time to time; but each time I turn it over to God, it's a little longer before it surfaces again. Good luck with whichever path you choose.

I went through this and found it a great experience. I was abused as a child and basically knew what the problems were but didn't know how to get rid of the anger. Conventional therapy didn't help. With hypnotherapy they didn't try to make me remember or uncover new things, they went with what I already knew and helped me to resolve my feelings towards those issues. I felt very safe and in control of myself. I would recommend this to anyone as long as you have a really good hypnotherapist. Give it a try, it might be just what your looking for! Good Luck!

Doesn't work. Didn't work for me. I think the way it works is that you start manufacturing what you believe happened whether it ever happened or not. Bogus, really bogus.
