trying to put power in my shop need spec. on how high weather needs to be above roof line live in alabama.

The minimum height above roof is 36 inches. Also it would have to be 12 ft above ground. There is other things that could make it have to be higher, as if the sever drop would swing over the ridge of the roof then it would have to be 8 ft above the roof ridge. All this is for residential. If it is commercial then there are a lot of other laws to deal with.

You need to look in the national electric code for this answer.It is a book you can get at the library for free,Just ask the librarian .I don't have the answer memorized but there is a picture of a driveway and it depends on if it is residential or commercial because you will need clearance if it is a trunk or a car so it needs to be height enough to ensure it will not be hit,You might be able to get the answer on line just type in national electric code in your browser
