War in the Middle East. The Cold War "ended". The Berlin wall fell.
Try just typing "life in 1990" into one of the search engines. Once you weed out the weird stuff, there's lots of information.
Also, I know it's not on-line at most libraries, but many libraries have archives of old newspapers & magazines. Check it out!

the 90's were a pretty war free decade. Oh wait! THere was that tribal genocide of 800,000 people in Rwanda and Operation Desert Storm also happened. Never mind. I guess we'll never have a truly peaceful decade.

go to www.wikepedida.com, or yahoo search for the year of 1990 to get to the wikepida site (cause its like first) and search for the year of 1990 they have ALOT of years full of EVERYTHING that happened.
