How many years is it good to keep perfume?

it does go bad and it is not a matter of years. perfume is an alcohol based product and with time the scent changes. the alcohol evaporates and what remains becomes dark and strong. let your nose be the judge.

Certain perfumes go bad quicker than others do. It could have something to do with the scent notes used in that particular perfume. I've noticed that perfumes that have rose undernotes tend to smell like dead, stinky roses after about a year. Some scents just tend to smell old and musky and watered down after a while. I think it just depends on the ingredients.

I have had perfume/body sprays for up to 2 years that still smell just like the day that I purchased them.

I've had perfumes that are 15-20 years old. I really don't use those anymore, sentimental I guess. I wonder what I smell like when I use some of my older ones (2-3 years). I hate to throw them away because of the cost involved in replacing them.

Yes, some perfumes do tend to go bad, to me some of the scents tend to take on a weird smell, stronger but not so good.

Yes. The oils in the perfume eventually become rancid which is why a lot of people keep their perfume in the fridge.

It could fade after several years, and possibly change colors, but go bad as in don't use it, nah. As long as you still like the smell, keep using it, you'll be fine.

I don't know about perfume, but I have had Old Spice talcum powder for thirty years (I don't use it much) and it still smells the same to me.

No, but after 10 years, you need to replace it. It is Great to purchase a new bottle.
