Leak at elbow joint. Is there a temp fix until I can get plumber? It's a slow drip.?

well i am a plumber and if its a water line not a drain line, i prolly shouldnt tell u this, it may crash the plumbing world to a halt but there are things called "shark bites" they make them in a variety of tees, couplings, elbows, etc. all that needs to be done is if u have a leaky elbow, determine what size it is, more than likely 1/2" or 3/4", go to a plumbing supply store, they might have them at lowes or something, but i'm not sure, get what u need be it a 1/2" elbow or whatever, and turn the water off, cut the pipe with whatever it takes at each end of the leaky elbow, and simply push the to sections of pipe into the shark bite. they're also called push-fit fittings. there is no glue, solder, crimp rings, nothing. u just push to piece of pipe together and they are water tight. i use them all the time, i assure they are not a temp fix. they are good for a permenant use.

well if you can shut the water off, take the elbow joint to the nearest hardware store to make sure they have the same one and buy a new one and replace it yourself, it will be a HELL OF A LOT cheaper to do it yourself rather then use a plumber. if you can see the pipe and it's leak, then you should be able to change it.

oh yea, don't forget to get the o-ring seals which go between the pipe joints to help prevent leaks,,,,that could be the only problem too just the o-ring is cracked.

Yes, go to you local hardware store and ask them for a marine epoxy or something similar. That may solve the problem and you won't need a plumber.

If you have a gas torch, & some solder, & the pipe is metal, seal it! dont call a plumber, save the cash!

Try wrapping it in duct tape.
