I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen-Lo & i just changed to Yaz last week. I didn't take a break between the two pills but I'm still not sure if I should wait for some time & use also another back-up method of contraception till the new pill starts working???

There should be no lapse in birth control, but the doc usually reccommends that you use back up for a month just in case.

I would recommend getting off the pill and using something else. I have used an IUD for many many years. No fuse, no mess and no forgetting to take a pill.

I would use back up with the switch for a month or so until the new medicine has time to get into my body and my body adjusts.
