It's difficult to know without more info. If this is your first pregnancy it could be from ligaments stretching to accomodate for the growing baby. Lower back pain on either side could be a sign of a kidney problem (ie kidney infection, stones...), could be braxton hicks but I doubt it if the pain is in your back. If your not spotting or doubling over in pain I would tell you to call your doctor and let them know what's going on - they might want to see you as a precaution. If it gets too painful or you begin spotting - I would go to the ER and let them check it out ASAP if you can't get into the drs.

I had the same thing during my pregnancy. It could be something as simple as a foot pushing on an organ, but you should tell your doctor about it as soon as you go in for your next checkup anyway. Ask for an ultrasound if the pain continues so that you'll know just what is going on.

You should see your doctor or go to the ER just to be safe, but you probably have a cramp. At 8 months it is alot of aches and pains, but they shouldn't be painful so see a doctor.

could be braxton hicks....is it continuous or does it stop and then start again? If it stops and starts again...time them. If they are 5 minutes or less apart I would go to the doctor. If its continuous I would call my doctors on call doctor or the local er and see what they say.

oh honey, your baby is pushing on your sciatic nerve. I'm sorry it wont get better by itself, the baby has to move or you need to invest in a few massages. Good luck

The baby could be laying on your sciatic nerve. Try to move around, if it doesn't ease up, call your doc and let him check you out just to be sure!
