Current thinking is that a roving lump of rock slammed into the molten Earth as it was forming around 4bn years ago. It split again and the emerging mass fell into orbit 250,000 miles from Earth. So the Earth came first. However, you might want to consider that both were just lumps of junk in space when the collision is supposed to have happened, and probably formed at around the same time. You might also say that because of the collision, two lumps became two completely different lump, and so both were formed at that moment from the base material. You choose.

The Earth came first. I had Earth science last year. There are many theories on how the Moon came to be our moon. There is the Impact theory (most accepted), which states that something large hit the Earth and borke off a piece that later became the moon. There is the Sister theory which states that the Earth and the moon formed at the same time. There is the Fission theory that states that the Earth was spinning so fast when it was still molten that a pice flew off and became the moon. There is the Capture theory which states that the moon flew by the Earth and was captured in its gravitational pull.

The earth was here first, but it was much much smaller. I believe what happened was a massive interstellar object collided with the earth and some of it combined with earth and the other part spun off to become the moon.

Basically, the material that is the moon came from the same place that much of the earth came from. ...which was another huge object that broke apart when it collided with earth.

All the material in the solar system is about the same age. The question is wither the moon and the earth was one object and a a colission formed the moon, or if the moon was just a passerby that got caught in the gravational field. The following link will answer some of your questions, but you might have more questions after reading it.

Theres also the theory that they were made at the same time.. the moon simply gravitating to earth. but the above theory has a lot to back it up.
