Usually you have to sand the area and re-stain and re varnish it to truly remove it, as it is soaked into the wood.

Hi Joekitty,

Uses cigarette ashes mixed into a paste with baby oil. Let sit for an hour then gently rub in, then wipe off. Sometimes it takes longer depending on stain. Then polish the table works everytime. Good luck & have a good day! :0)

that's a hard one. depending on the wood and the finish...and the stain..water ring ...try mayo...weird but true..spread it on and let it sit..lots of times this draws it out.

I've also heard that white toothpaste, which can be hard to find works. I'd try it in a concealed area first. Good luck.
