He is about 7 months old and about 18 in. long. I give him 1 pinky a week and he devours it in seconds. I was thinking about giving him 2 what do you think?

He really isnt that big of a guy to be seven months.

This is the rule of thumb for knowing when to feed more. After you feed your snake, if you can see a visible bump from the pinkie for 48-72 hours then he has enough food.

If the bump stays visible less than two days, you need to bump him up. If you want to get rid of the pinkies that you have left, feed him two of them. If they are live pinkies, do this one at a time.

Once you finish off your thing of pinkies, proceed to give him ONE fuzzie a week.

Hope this helped.

You most likely need to step up in rodent size!!! If the snake is 18" long it should be on at least small mice by now. If you have a pic send it. You could also do fuzzies 2x a week. Just be sure you can not see the backbone on your snake. It should look full and rounded. If it does not it is time to super feed....

Corn snakes have fast metabolisms. They eat once a week (or week and a half) their whole lives. It doesn't matter how big they or their food gets!

You are supposed to have the fattest part of the body and the fattest part on the mouse be the same size. At 7 months old it sounds like you are feeding him WAY to small.

Sure. Give him two. Snakes are cold. blooded animals, which means they don't have to eat a lot to keep warm like we do, but give the poor guy another pinky.
