A Pontiac Trans am (f-body) is a RWD front engined sports car. Same basic platform and shares many parts with the chevy camaro.

A pontiac Grand Prix (w-body) is a front engined FWD family car, I for do not consider this car to be "sporty" or "fast" unless heavily modified. I feel it's intended purpose is to get you from point A to point B in relative comfort and safety. They share many parts and the same platform as the chevy monte carlo

A Pontiac Grand Am (N-body) is a front engine FWD "Sub-compact" Another car which I don't consider "fast" or "sporty" unless heavily modified.

in my opinion......a gt looks better all around. Gt's do normally have more horsepower cause they are intentionally made for performance. They also have a different body kit, spoiler, and maybe a bigger engine. the SE's are a cheaper, less sexy lookin model. of course with less horsepower usually the SE's come in a Automatic rarely a standard. the Gt's are more known to come in a Standard than an Automatic. and im pretty sure all their parts are interchangable. Garages say they are not but they just want you to spend more money than you have to.
