Sorry, best I know you can get a false negative because your hormones may not be enough to register on the test but you cannot get a false positive. You are pregnant.

This happened with my ex-wife and myself. She was around 2 weeks late when she took the test, which came back positive. Our joy only lasted about 3 hours, because at that point, she started her period. We went to her doctor for a blood test and it was negative. Still don't know what happened other than it shows that the home tests are not always correct.

I got + on one of those home pregnancy tests almost a year after my hysterectomy (meaning I no longer have tubes, ovaries, uterus or cervix). It was impossible for me to be pregnant, there is no way i could have been pregnant but I got a +...proves just how accurate those home pregnancy tests are. If you think you could be pregnant see a doctor.

If it turns out positive you are pregnant. Your grandmother is in denial, she does not know what she is talking about. If you want 100% accuracy goto the doctor to get a blood test. (Good Luck)!!!!

It would be very difficult too get a false positive...you would either need to be on some heavy fertility medications or have a faulty test...Take another one and if it too is positive...You are pregnant hun!

Pregnancy tests are, supposedly, 90+% accurate! So I guess yours could've been wrong!
