I work in a multi-national company and I promise you, the US has fewer holidays than any other country - definitely fewer than Canada (only by 2), the UK, Germany, France, Israel. I could use a few more holidays, frankly.

Up here in Canada we pretty much have 1 day a month for holidays. Long weekends are great. You can go camping or even some kind of music event, whatever your fancy. For me it is great to spend time with my son and get some extra work done around the house. For centuries employers took advantage of workers we should get our dues, after all life is not all about work at least not for me.

Actually Spain has the most number of holidays. 365 days a year. Each day there is a fiesta or celebration in every town you come across.

Peace.

well I think that these holidays are needed. You look at other countries they have vacations (more than two weeks), holdiays and weekends. I work so much and I need more than just the weekends. I think you life is not about working all the time.

Life is about more than work. I know when I go for more than a month without a break longer than a weekend, I start going crazy. Like, really crazy.
