Well, if you're really serious about finding an artist who would like to be your partner in creating a comic, it's important that you make sure you can sell yourself first. Nobody will want to work with you if you sound inexperienced and don't have a clue as to what you're doing.

For example, it's good to know that an "anime style comic" is called a manga.

Start off with some research. Read some books or articles about manga, comics, and how to become a great writer. If you want an excellent artist working with you, then you've got to be just as awesome with your writing skills.

Now that you feel confident in your work, it's time to decide if you want to find someone to draw the comic or if you want to try selling your story.

The place you'd have a good chance of selling your story to is probably Tokyopop, because they are always looking for new talent. Visit http://www.tokyopop.com/C-26 and see the Submissions or Rising Stars of Manga sections.

However, you can also try selling your stories to other companies as well. It'd be a good idea to copywrite your stories first, though.

Okay, so let's say you decide that you don't want to sell your stories and you do want to find an artist to draw your stories. Now, it's time to go recruiting. There are lots of ways to find an artist to work with you. Here are a few ideas:

- Hire someone: If you have the money, try hiring an artist. Post a want ad in your local paper or on monster.com letting artists know that you want to hire them.

- Websites and Forums: There are lots of artists who post their work online. By becoming a member of different forums/message boards/website communities, you can post that you're looking for an artist. Read posts written by an artist to get to know what they're like. Some suggested sites to visit are comicbookclassifieds.com, www.thewebcomiclist.com, and deviantart.com.

- Blogs and Portfolios: There are some artist portfolios on the web, so check those out for possible artists. Start your own blog, if you don't have one already, dedicated just to your quest to find an artist. Make sure to read blogs of other artists, too.

- Create a webpage: Even if you don't know how to design your own layout, having a website of your own for artists to visit is an important way of establishing yourself online. You could post story samples, information about yourself, your goals, and what you're looking for in an artist. If you can create your own site, that would be best. If not, try going to sites like daydreamgraphics.com or www.aethereality.net and you can get a premade website layout.

Before you choose someone make sure that you've contacted them through email or snail mail first and that you get along with them. If this person is going to be your partner, then it might also be a good idea to have a written agreement before hand, that way both people know what is expected.
