You should be reading the instructions on the bottle. There should be a chart indicating dosage to age. I do believe it is 2.5ml 4 times a day maximum. (I just looked at my Alcohol Free Grip Water bottle in my cupboard) Your brand may be different, but I doubt it.

You may want to try other things as well for colic. You can try Ovul drops as well as feeding your baby in an upright position (if bottle feeding) you can try laying the baby on your legs sort of sitting up and pushing their legs toward the chest (not too hard) and making a bicycle motion to relieve the gas that comes along with colic. Colic usually resolves itself by 3 months.
Hope that helps :)

The label say it may be given up to 6 times a day.
I really don't know anything about this gripe water, in fact have never even heard of it! When my babies had colic ir gas, I used Mylicon drops and they worked great.

DON'T WORRY!! I used to do the same when my son was 4 weeks old, but the colics got worse, and he turned out to be Lactose intolerant, so we had to switch him to Lactose Free formula.... His pediatrician had told me that i could give him Gripe water up to six times a day, so i guess it's ok, just make sure that it's ALCOHOL FREE.

P.S. my son is now 10 months old, and he's ok.....
Good Luck

my sister was colic and we gave her gripe water. i was curious oneday so i drank some of the gripe water and i was in so much pain. it was unbelevable. what worked best for my sister was we put a mint ball in a bottle of water and feed it to her it . it worked wonders. also look into the formula that could be the cause.

U need to see a pediatric gi specialist! I don't know why all these mothers are steering you in the wrong direction, they need to assess your baby for allergies and reflux, if it is "colicy" then there is a reason for that symptom, colic is not a disorder its a result of a disorder.
If your child has already been in the hospital it sounds like you are down the path that we were last year this time, and will be many more times until you find the right doc!

We were in childrens hospital for 15 times for reflux allergies and respiratory problems, the funny thing is the point where I fired a doc and found a new one, we got him on the right track. Don't let your baby suffer!

Here is another reason, if your child has reflux and or allergies, it will damage your childs airway as well as all the upper digestive system. My sons upper airway was covered with blood in november when they scoped his lungs. (i am a respiratory therapist who assists with these procedures and never have seen a case as bad as my own sons) Please your child could be suffering silently!

If your son has colic, it will last until he is 3 months old, to the day almost. My daughter had colic and someone told me that it will be difficult to deal with but it will dissappear 3 months to the day, and it did. Patience and a lot of love. As long as the doctor says he's okay...
