the king never fooled with the housely duties hun, he was off taking care of the kingdom to fool with doing anything as womanly as child care. Yes, I'm being scarastic here. The Queen never nursed her children nor raised them either, she had to keep her body trim and pretty for the king, and her lovers on the side behind his back (don't act shocked it happened all the time). So he poor children were raised by nurses, then governesses, then scholars, nope sorry both the queen and the king were truly absentee parents.

How would a King take care of a newborn? If you mean Queen, then the answer is she got a "wet nurse" or a handmaiden or servent who was also breastfeeding a child.

Nursemaids, aka wet nurses, would take care of the children in any royal family. The children usually would even be fostered out to live in another court, so they would not be subjected to the intrigues of their own court.

the king certainly not..... anyway, the myth of childhood was invented long after medieval times, and one child out of two then did not get to be 21. Love was scarce, and kids considered as small grown ups as soon as possible.

Form what I read, most royalty never really spent anytime with they're children. They paid other people to take care of and raise the kids.
