1)They are different families.
2)The shape of their jaw(alligators have a wide U shaped head where as crocodiles have a V shaped pointed head).
3)In alligators the upper jaw is bigger and wider than the lower so when it closes its mouth the teeth of the lower jaws cannot be seen and they fit into sockets of the upper jaw.In crocodiles the width of the upper and lower jaw are the same for which the teeths interlock when the crocodile closes its mouth.
4)Crocodiles have more developed lingual salt glands than alligators.
5)Crocodiles have ISO's or DPR's all over their bodies but alligators have it on their upper and lower jaws only.

The crocodile is to be respected do you know they are the one of the oldest reptiles here on earth and they not only lay eggs they must bury the eggs in a certain temperature and they are so very intelligent the share the food which they kill and they respect and take care of one another eating needs they are very choosy also and I tell you even the lion fears or respect the crocodile and they can float like a log and eat bone ,horns and everything any thing is made of now I don't know of what they fear but I do know they are to be respected! Can you believe they omit a funky odor when they wish to mate and I believe it is the male that shows off for the female. wow you must get the video and learn about the crocodile I love these creatures for they are incredible really they are alright they are very big also and you many not know it but there tails are fierce really! dig this they must eat a big game together and here's why, they can't tear and hold and they must have the other crocodile to hold while the eater tears and swallow isn't that just incredible I was like man when I seen this! you and i know that there skin is one of the best skins man can wear and use for other handy and sturdy pouches and such! Now Now now they are I won' say ugly for I believe Allah ta'ala has never created ugly but the are (I like this word) "special" lol
Now i have shared all i know about the crocodile and know very little about the alligator but i beg you to tune into your animal channel and PBS and you will obtain so much knowledge it is mind blowing
oh before i forget they are eating African like its nothing and it is terrible the number of tribe men baby's woman dog and all creature they eat and every creature that exist respect them now it blew my mind when I seen the tiger lion leopard give them their kill and whine I was to threw really
I love the crocodile but I pray you pass on this fascinating information I have learned over respecting the way they have survived all these many many years and they are related to the dinosaurs!
Now with you I pray to learn the difference really I need to know also!

basically same critter, crocs are bigger, its kinda a British and English mixup. Two countries whoes only seperation is a common langauge. UK/US
