The absolute BRAVEST thing Lincoln did was resist the creation of the PRIVATELY owned Federal Reserve. Following the dictates of our Constitution, CONGRESS created and controlled America's money, which financed the Civil War, left us with NO NATIONAL DEBT, and our country prospered.

Many believe that is why he was assasinated. Around 50 years later, the privately-owned Federal Reserve WAS approved by Congress, and we have been it's financial slaves ever since. It's (primarily foreign) owners are LEGALLY kept secret from us. When the President chooses a Federal Reserve Chairman (like Greenspan), he does so from a LIST provided BY the Federal Reserve Board.

It has been our government's biggest secret, until now. Now we have PNAC, and it's American-led world domination scheme, already under way.

Is this some kind of essay you need to address? At the national level, he demonstrated political courage by not accepting the Southern states that wanted to secede from the U.S., thus forcing the country into a civil war which he really didn't want but knew had to be fought in order to preserve the Union. It worked but at a high price in terms of causalities.

I admire him... he made good speeches on the local level.
He was right, in that he started the civil war.
He was wrong since the Supreme Court ruled that the war was unconstitutional on a constitutional level. But of course After the war. He stood for what he believed in but really didn't help the slaves much... that would take another hundred years.
Was he a Republican? Yes he was LOL! Hard to find footing nowadays.
