yes, the hormones that are flooding round your body have a marked effect on your lower vertebra and pelvic region. You must make sure you have enough calcium for yourself, because the baby will be taking loads to make their own bones! It helps if u can roll out of bed instead of trying to stand up straight away. Some sort of bandaged support would be a good idea too. Don't become completely immobile tho' as this could do more damage in the long run. The composition of your bones is changing somewhat, all in order for the little tyke's appearance through the birth channel! Good luck!

Yes I am 5 weeks along and one of my very first signs is my lower back ache! Take a warm bath... but not too hot, that isn't good for the baby! Be happy... this will only go one a little while longer!

Hi, Yes I have it could be your body preparing itself, Go and take a nice warm bath it helps with aches also get some lotion or pregnancy cream and get your partner/friend/family to massage your pain places. Also go and see your doctor about taking paracetamol, unless you have problems or have been told otherwise you can take very small amounts for pain, but if you can take the pain don't take the tablets. Just take care of yourself this will pass so quickly! good luck xx

Ohh god yeah & I hate to tell you but it only gets worse as time goes on, well it has for me anyway. Lately its been like I've banged my coctix or something(!) Try getting your partner (he helped get you into this!) or a friend/family member to massage/rub your back.
Its not out of the question to take paracetamol (avoid asprin/ibuprofen!) but take it very sparingly.

Dunno if you have pets but I also found my small dog made a perfect hot water bottle when she was stretched out, failing no pets try a H.W bottle or a heat up peat pack that you can get from chemists. They're great for period pains too.
Hope it eases off soon.

I had bad aches and pains for the first few weeks, but gradually they eased off a bit. I still get them, specially in my back, but not nearly as bad as when i was between 4-8 weeks.

Well, it is normal for you to ache in the back because you stomach is growing and all the extra weight is been supported by the back and that is why it is acheing you... well,. just get a few pillows and put the under your fett and lay donw... make sure your feet are equal to your stomach.. about 3 pillows would be fine... and you will start feelign comfortable.... and believe nice too.. my doctor has recommended Tums Calcium tables you get at the store... just eat them it makes you bones stronger... adn ofcourse a lot of milk will help too... Good luck.

although it is quite alarming to feel so ac hey at this stage of your pregnancy it is perfectly normal.your body is already going through massive changes and the hormones racing through your body are already preparing you for child birth.your aches and pains are happening because your uterus is already growing to accommodate your growing baby these pains are normal but if you are really concerned speak to your midwife who will be able to give you the best advice and support.it is also perfectly safe for you to take paracetamol during pregnancy providing you stick to the correct dose.good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and do try not to worry too much

My wife says she ached in the beging. I think it just comes with being pregnant. You can use a heating pad for short periods of time on your back, exercise helps or soak in a warm bath, but not in real hot water like a hot tub.

Soak in a nice warm bath. Get your babies father to rub your lower back. Have a great baby. Good luck
