what ever style lets you set your positioons and angels best. stand-up. hybred, butterfly, etc, any can be the best for you you can find and maintain your best angles. try em all out and see which style(s) has you reacting correctly and which one has you thinking. stop using the one where you think.

Depending on the height and the weight of the goaltender is what will determine the proper stance for him.

With the opening of the ice surface, there is a lot more passing so you must be able to get side to side quickly for one timers, because of that I'd have to say a butterfly goalie however they need to have extremely good lateral movement.

I use butterfly, myself, but it really depends on how quick you are.
To me being closer to the ice makes it alot easier because of how tall I am.( I am 6'2") I t makes me easier to control the puck.
Here's a couple of some great butterfly goalies: Brodouer,Belfour,Roy but really it's all about you

Whatever is best for that particular goalie. With the way the NHL is being played today it helps if they are good going side to side.
