Are you planning on eating it? 'Cause my dad did that once and he just put it in the kitchen sink. Well, then my sister and I poked their eyes with chopsticks and they had a very strong grip. Then, my dad executed them, so I don't really know. You can do some research, this might help... sorry if it doesn't

Blue Crab Aquarium

Problem #1: The blue crabs you buy at the market are SALT WATER crabs. Putting them in a fresh water aquarium is a slow, certain death. Their bodies can't function in a zero-salinity environment. (although they do very well in brackish estuaries, they require a certain salinity level to survive).

An alternative to blue crabs would be to but a crayfish at the pet store. They are fresh water crustaceans, easy to care for, and interesting to watch. Just remember that they are predators, and will eat anything they can catch.

If you have your heart set on blue crabs, invest in a salt water tank, but be prepared for the crab to make every effort to rearrange the decor, destroy anything it can, and escape as soon as it can find an exit...oh, yeah, they will eat anything they can catch, too.
