You can download German Rock Songs via Tonspion, a collection of music freely available on the www. I recommend some tracks by Tomte, Kettcar (both Alternative Rock), and Spillsbury (Punk Rock). You might also be able to buy some songs by Sportfreunde Stiller (popular Bavarian Punk Rockers).

Swedish rock songs won't help you much with a German project.
And I'm going to assume you're a bit like me, I always want to come up with something nobody else would think of for a project like this, so, here's some of my favourite German bands (And some of their better songs that I can find a video for):

Rammstein and Die Toten Hosen are really good German bands.
Also try Helloween, Oomph!, and Wir sind Helden.
