What is the average age when breasts start to sag? What can cause it to happen earlier? Can it be prevented? If it happens at any earlier age can they naturally recover back to a firm state?

At menopause
Menopause average age is 51
I am a 51 year old menopausal woman with no sag but that is down to my genes and small boobs. I still managed to successfully breastfeed three children though.

There is no exact age because it also has to do with the weight of the woman and how big her breasts are to begin with. The best thing I can tell you as a preventative is to find a properly fitting bra and wear it...you do not have to wear one all the time but the times you do will help support your breasts and keep them from sagging as much when you are not wearing one..I know, I have breasts..LOL

I've practically been able to tuck mine into my socks since I had my son at 18! I went from a 32D to a G cup then back again. I think they'd have gone like that if i hadn't breast fed, but it probably made things a little worse.

I wear 2 sports bras, one one top of the other for running, & that certainly helps make it a lot more comfortable.
I'm having surgery next month to go down to an A or B cup, & get them uplifted, so hopefully that will provide a long term solution!

Depends on how large the breasts are. For sure by age 30, there will be some sagging. Remember we are real people, not movie stars that get plastic surgery and airbrushing on our pics.
Buy a good sports bra and wear it anytime you are doing exercise or even cleaning the house.
Nothing will turn the clock back, but good nutrition will help.

It's the skin losing its elasticity that causes the breasts to sag. This is dependant on genes i.e. some women are luckier than others in that their skin retains its elasticity longer as they age than others. Such women will also appear to age less in other ways e.g. facial wrinkles.
There are two other factors: gravity and breast size. Large breasts have a greater mass than small breasts and so the effect of gravity is greater on them i.e. they tend to be pulled downwards more than small breasts. This inclines the skin to stretch more which can lead to drooping. This is clearly seen in cases where the breasts are very large i.e. they droop somewhat even when the skin is young.
The effect of gravity is increased if the woman doesn't protect herself properly from it i.e. wearing a properly fitted bra is essential if the natural sagging effects of ageing are to be minimized. Apparently most women wear incorrectly fitted bras most of their lives; one reason for this is that breast size fluctuates at various stages in a woman's life and even because of her mentrual cycle. Also, certain exercises and activities can act to stretch breast tissue and skin e.g. jogging without a properly fitted sports bra or vigorous manipulation during love-making.
Apparently (contrary to what the advertisements will tell you) no skin creams or cosmetic treatments in the world can prevent the ageing process - only surgery can reverse the sagging once it occurs. I saw a top cosmetician saying that if you want to beat the sag, be it on your face or breasts, you must beat gravity. Which means support, support, support - and don't let your Tarzan swing on them!

You need exercise to keep the muscle under your breast firm so breast wont sag.
You also need a good bra, with all the weight of some breast , you know they will sag down if they don't have support, just like a plastic bag filled with water would sag if you tied it to something.

It depends of the size of the breasts really.
The only thing I would suggest to anyone who is large breasted, do wear a bra all the time.Obviously if nooky is on the agenda, one is allowed to remove or have removed, but do put it back on it will definitely help with the sagging.

I feel sorry for women loosing the plumpness of their breasts; as consultation, men's ears and noses will eventually sag just as bad.
