Not revealing to more than 50% of American that he was wearing a wire and taking answers from somewhere during the 2004 debates.

I would say:

Domestically - pushing through the tax cuts that minimized the recessionary effects of the dot-com bubble and the hangover from the Roaring '90s.

Internationally - focusing attention on terrorism in a way that hadn't been tried before; not by the US, certainly, and not by the Europeans, who have a much longer history of significant terrorist attacks on their countries.

Not to say that he gets it all right (who does?); I just think these two accomplishments are worthy of note.

Starting about 50 years from now, those living will have an opportunity to have a more objective view of this presidency (assuming the profession of teaching history is generally not as one-sided and biased as it is at present).

Just the fact that you say "Bush Lovers" means you are biased...as history will record when all is said and done..He was mediocre...He probably would have been OK with managing things like an Eisenhower if it was a relatively uneventful period in American History...

He did a great job with immigration, especially after 9-11 when it was So so important.

He did an awesome job of giving women alternatives and making them feel they did not need to abort because of lack of health insurance or government safety nets.
He restricted abortion after the first trimester and pushed for bills like this, this was very important to his conservative religious base.
This is also important because abortion especially after the first trimester and the way they kill them is really akin to legalized murder.
He curbed spending and trimmed the fat where we needed it the most.
He made sure he gave tax cuts mainly to the middle class working American, not only because they are those who needed it the most, but because it stimulates the economy because middle class are big spenders and potential entrepreneurs.
