in the 70's and 80's and 90's and stuff, has lacoste clothes always been expensive?

or did the polo shirts just jump to $72 a pop recently?

They didn't cost 72.00, but yes if you factor in the cost of living, they were expensive.

We recently went to Macy's because I wanted a lacoste polo. Back in the early 70's my mom wore lacoste polo dresses. She said she had about 15 of them. She also said that they were not expensive at the time. Wearing something lacoste then was not that special, and in most town today if you are wearing lacoste people know you spent alot of money on them.
