Are you talking about a child and safety?

Well, first of all, appearance and apparel do not mean a damn thing, unless you are teaching her to be shallow. Neither do their jobs or where they may live. Men in suits can be child molesters. Look at all the priests That have molested children. (And for reasons beyond my comprehension, people still blindly trust priests, but that is another discussion.) Teach her not to talk to strangers. If someone she does not know offers her a ride, teach her to run, then tell someone right away. Have a code word that will be used if for some reason you send someone to pick her up from school, etc. And do not put her name on her backpack, jacket, etc or any other place a stranger can see it and pretend they know her.

Or do you mean a teen/young adult looking for a boyfriend/future husband/etc?

Again, appearance and apparel do not mean a damn thing, unless you are teaching her to be shallow. A man in a suit can beat his wife just as easily as a man wearing a mechanic's uniform can. One good way is to tell her to watch how he treats other people - all people. If he treats the waiters/waitresses in restaurants like anything less than the full human beings they are, chances are he has serious attitude and ego problems, even if he is wearing the most expensive suit she has ever seen. If he would rather become homeless than take a job he considers "beneath" him, that says a lot about him. Does he think he is somehow better than the garbage man? Again, a serious sign of attitude and ego problems. How does he treat animals? If he is abusive towards them, he will eventually become abusive towards her.

Don't even try
Obviously, the world is full of bad men in good men's suits

Tell them to not go with ANY man until he says the Family Secret word, and teach him how to yell like hell "I'm being abducted" !

Looks are deceiving. You should tell your child not to talk to strangers, to ask for a badge when talking to a cop, and make sure you never take your eyes off your kid.

do you mean for their safety? or a life skill to find a partner?
SAFETY if someone they don't know is showing a lot of interest in them -get out of there or find a crowd of people and tell them about it
PARTNER most good men don't hang around clubs/bars-that's a start in the right direction

You can't.

What you do is tell him not to talk to any strangers, and not worry about feeling unpolite. It is not.
