I think you should just contact her and put your mind to rest. But I've gotta warn you first, 10 years is a long time. Things aren't gonna be the same anymore. She may be a really different person and you'll realise that calling her isn't about 'catching up on old times' but about 'discovering a new person in her'. And don't habour high hopes of rekindling any love because you both are exes for a valid reason. Mending a broken vase doesn't guarantee that water won't seep through the cracks.

No no no no no no no no no no no no no! I've often thought about going on some crazy quest to find all my exes and find out what they're doing and see whether anything sparks again, but then I realise that whether I left her or she left me, there's a reason why we're exes and it's best left at that. Out of interest, try reading My Legendary Girlfriend or Turning Thirty by Mike Gayle. He's a guy that's been where I (and by the sound of it you) have.
