What do I need to know for purchasing a laptop. I surf the internet mostly. Play games at pogo, ect. I have my favorites, also have a digital camera that uses floppy disk. Can I add a floppy attachment to this laptop. Also my isp is cable, is this a problem. Will I need to buy anything for this type of connection? (it's the same as my tv cable). Thanks for any help or advice.

Most all laptops have an OS,,,Operateing System. A PC is Personal Computer. Desktops and Laptops are Personal Comuters.
Your Laptop PC , that is one way it is said, comes with a preconfigured factory installed OS. Or it doesnt. The OS, 98% of PCs sold come with Windows, so yours will prolly have Windows on it.
To access an Ethernet Network, cable lan, you will need a NIC card, and may as well get a WiFi card. WiFi is next generation, in PC years thats a week.
For that kinda stuff, a desktop would prolly be better, more Upgradeability, can integrate with Home Entertainement Systems, lappys can also, but dektops are way more powerfull and less likely to splode in a coffee shop.

You can get external floppy drives, but are you sure that your camera uses floppy discs and not flash memory of some type?? As far as the cable DSL, you can set up a wireless home network, surely the new laptop will have a built in wireless adapter. Most do nowadays. If not, there are wireless "G" adapters for those also. I would probably get a less expensive laptop, or even a "refurb" from tigerdirect.com.or newegg.com.
