Call home, write home, or find others from my homeland to chat with. That's what I did when I was living abroad, anyway. I might also take a nap or a shower or try to distract myself with a movie. Or else study in an attempt to make the people I love back home proud of me :-)

The definition of homesick is that you don't feel right and you miss home a lot.
Signs that you are homesick is that your stomach feels empty and you really miss your parents. This occurs to more people around the world when they aren't seperated from their family as much and really depend on their family. You could also throw up too, one of my friends did.
If you have symptoms of these feeling, best to call your family. If you feel a little better that you are hearing your family, stay where you are. If not, report to an adult you are with and try to get a ride home.
Don't worry about other people, but they just don't have that feeling and do not feel embarssed, it was just how you were raised.

When I was homesick, I would listen to music from home, remenisce about fun times while looking at pictures from home. It really helps to talk to family and friends. They're only a phone call away. I'd even call family and ask for certain recipes that really bring home to me (comfort foods).

try not to dwell on the fact that you are homesick instead engage in other things to take your mind off home, try and talk to as many people as possible to get yourself familiar with the place you're in.

I pray to God.
I listen to upbeat music.
I watch funny movies or shows.
Maybe look at pictures, and try and be thankful for the blessings in my life that are around me.
God bless.
